Aiman:

My technical skills are I made a poster of an Indian chef using a hard paper. I got the picture from the internet than I drew it on the paper and I colour it too. It took me 20 minutes to make. Also we created 12 a poster for advertisement. We stack it on a board around the school so people know that we will be selling Indian traditional food/drink on Monday and Tuesday.

Firstly, I went to Tesco to buy the ingredients that I need for cooking my food (butter chicken and mango lassi). It cost me around £20 pound to buy all the ingredients.

Secondly at home, I choped the chicken to small pieces and chopping onions. It took me 5-10 minutes. Then I fried the chicken which took me around 15-20 minutes. After I finished the final butter chicken. I put the food in the refrigerator for a night and bring it to school the next day.

Lastly at school, I heat up the butter chicken in a pan for 5-7 minutes. It could have been long because the sauce won't be that hot. This is because but we ran out of time.

I think I improved from my 1st term because I chop the chicken and onions more faster than before and at the same time I develop my skills overtime. Also I didn't look at the method because I still remember the steps of how to make butter chicken.

I also made mango lassi. It was my first time making it and it wasn't that difficult. I choped 2-4 pieces of mango and after that I blend it along with yogurt and other ingredients. It took me around 25 to 30 minutes to make the mango lassi.

My specification was met with different specification which is the quality, safety, environmental, and target audience for my technical skills.

Quality

Before I made the head of Indian chef I make sure it represents Indian culture. During 1st term I put bindi on the men head which is wrong because it is only for women. Therefore, this term I make sure that I wont put the red dot. The stand advertisement didn’t meet with the Quality due to the advertisement was to simple. We didn’t put information of Indian culture such as traditional clothes, music and language.

Safety

My safety was met. I chopped the chicken breast slowly and carefully. I used the safety gloves so the oil wont splash to my hand and whenever I would like to transfer the food. I make sure I transfer it gently so it wont spill or splash.

Environmental

I cooked the butter chicken at home. It was successful because if I cooked this at school it would take a lot of time and we will have missed some of our lessons. I heated up the butter chicken at school on a big circle bowl and cover it with a lid so the sauce wont splash out.

Fawaz:

During this term I have developed my technical skills.One of these technical skills is cooking or preparing a beverage.I have prepared the Masala Chai by using the kettle to make hot water and I bought the chai, so I just needed to pour hot water on it and swirl it, then it will be ready.Before that I have done my research about picking the best material. After that, I went to Tesco so I can buy the ingredients. It cost me around £7-£9 to buy some of the ingredients and materials, however there were some ingredients and materials were available in my house, so I brought the rest from home.

Firstly, I have prepared the ingredients at home where I have cut ginger and some of the ingredients that needs to prepared before the day that it needs to be served.

Secondly, I have served the beverage to costumers hot where I have prepared the beverage at the morning before going to school.Which took me 10-20 mins.I have saved it into a heat resistant teapot.

The second technical skill was designing the logo and sologan.I have designed my logo and sologoan.I have used a website to help me in designing the logo where I have looked at examples of logos and I have got the idea then I have drew a logo, then I used photoshop to create the logo.This process took me 20-30 mins.First, I have drawn my idea in paper and I have shared my ideas with my college.We have agreed on the logo.

The third technical skill was also preparing food where I have made bread with nutella or cheese.I have cut the bread into pieces so more people can buy the product.I have prepared the nann bread with nutella or cheese in just 1 min.

My specification was met with different specification which is the quality, safety, environmental, and target audience for my technical skills.

Quality:The quality of my food was good.I have seen indian people in my country and asked them how can I do the masala chai and there was more than a way to make the masala chai.I have chosen the easiest and most simple way.Also,the stand advertisement didn’t meet with the satisfactory because of the advertisement changed into to simple way to present our product. We didn’t put information of Indian way of life along with conventional clothes, music and language.

Safety:My safety became met. I chopped the ginger and the ingredients slowly and carefully. I used the safety gloves so the hot water on my hand. I make certain I transfer it lightly so it wont spill or splash.

Environmental:I cooked the butter fowl at domestic. It was into successful because I cooked it at home and I would have more time doing it in home rather than school. I heated up the water at home on a large circle bowl and cowl it with a lid so the water won't splash out.
